Next contest: Privacy vs. Freedom of Expression!

If we had more phones with cameras, would this be an issue in the US?

Is it correct for a government to say what pictures you can and can not take?

How about if someone were to take a picture of you without asking? What if that picture was taken at a time or in a way that, if asked, you would not have given permission for such a picture to be taken?

On the other side of the issue: should one bystander make a picture of a landscape or landmark verboten? Would all that would be required to prevent a picture of something from being taken be an unconsenting person standing in front of it? Who would be allowed to break or contravene such a law? Why not ME?

I don’t know the answers but I certainly have some good questions.

Aren’t viruses great?

Wait a sec. Would it be that hard to make these things target regular brain cells?

It has been a LONG time since the last post. News: The website's AI section has been updated and is no longer "under construction".

In other news, I have been reading Anne Rice’s vampire-imbued books. So far I have finished five, up through “Memnoch the Devil”. Different story formats and different writing styles from anything I’ve read before. Some of the plots feel a little old or cliché, but that could be because her books are the vampiric precursors of the genre.

I’ve also been reading a little from quite a few books on AI. Ones worth my time include one of Penrose’s, a Kurzweil, and more. Maybe I’ll do a book review someday soon.
